Authentic Thai massage is the focus at Protea Day Spa, found in the Red Sails Building on Main Road in Hout Bay, Cape Town. Its therapists were trained in Thailand, and the spa has been operating since 2018. The treatment menu includes an aromatherapy hot oil massage with warm essential oils and gentle pressure, a Thai oil massage that blends smooth oil strokes with light stretching, and traditional Thai massage (Nuad Thai), done without oil and using firm acupressure and assisted, yoga-style stretches. Sessions are offered in 60, 90 and 120-minute lengths. The spa is open seven days a week until late, and has a sister branch in Sandton, Johannesburg.
